Our History
WHDO has a long history of working with government at all levels, as both a service provider and influencer. The majority of services we deliver are NGO, government-funded, through a transparent tender process to secure contracts for a determined period. Other services rely on the generosity of our partners and tens of thousands of everyday people who give us their support.
WHDO nonprofit, community-focused entities whose mission is to support their affiliated Planation community   neighborhoods with a range of programs such as Land rights   , Education and youth empowerment , Women and Gender  Economic development, safety and social Security,. also provide an important bridge for community organization and CO-OP. oversight typically comprises a executive director and small staff, along with a volunteer board, all of whom work together to formulate and enact community-based initiatives.
WHDO began in Puttlam and Anuradhapura  Districts where, in 2012, Visionary leaders and his aides floated the idea of a Participatory development Foundation Over the next 10 years, were launched District wide , generally in poor rural areas. Local organizations and a foundation collaborated to give Agricultural loans and advice to residents whose low incomes rendered them too risky for conventional banks.Â
